The other day, my husband and I wondered

Why is it that the Chinese restaurants never mess up orders like our lovely American restaurants? We thought about this as we were ordering food our food. I can honestly say that I have always gotten what I ordered from a Chinese restaurant, nothing more and nothing less. Unlike Wendys or McDonalds where many times we've ordered one thing and have come home with something totally different. Think about it, have you ever had your order messed up in a Chinese restaurant? I think not, and thinking that your chicken fried rice really isn't chicken does not count!!!

Good question. Even more interesting b/c I don't think the waiter usually understands a word I say.

I love Chinese. There is one Chinese restaurant in my area with an unbelievable chef. Unfortunately he is being chased by Immigration. He turned up in another restaurant about 35 miles down the road. If the Feds knew how good he cooked they would let him stay in the country.

Best Chinese I ever had was in Chinatown in DC. Completely different world but the best food. If I recall correctly, Gina wouldn't eat anything but the fortune cookies.

Greg, do you go 35 miles to get his food now?

No, I haven't been to the chef's new spot down the road. There is a guy at work who is totally into food and restaurant blogs. He got my wife and I going to this local Chinese place. But we haven't been to the chef's next location. My friend at work went out there though. Same chef, same great food.

By the way, sorry for the delay in answering your question!

I was once waiting for takeout in a chinese restaurant and reviewing their menu...on which I was amused to see they had misspelled "crab rangoon" by using "p" instead of "b". In that case, fine to not get that order right.
