Oh Saturn...Sorry this is so long...

Why is your service going down hill? My lovely Saturn dealership moved recently to a Flow Auto Plaza extravaganza!!! The service has sucked sooooo bad ever since. Today, I take my lovely Saturn to get some routine work done on the car. Here's how that went at 8:20 am

Tech: How can I help you.
Me: Good morning, I need to get my inspection and an oil change.
Tech: Do you have an appointment.
Me: No I don't.
Tech: Ok, just give me a sec.
Sec: Tick tock, tick tock.
Tech: Ok, you want an oil change and tire rotation.
Me: No, an oil change and an inspection.
Tech: Ok, do you have an appointment.
Me: Thinking (Am I having a memory lapse or did I just tell him this)...No I don't have
Tech: That's right, you don't have an appointment. Pull your car around.
Me: Pulled it up and back to the tech.
Tech: Writes down oil change, but not inspection, let me check your warranty info.
Me: Thinking (Why is he checking my warranty info, I don't get free services).
Tech: You are not due for a while...Maybe about 1 month.
Me: We are going on a trip and I would like to have it done early.
Tech: Ok. Looks like you take good care of it, you bring it in on time every time. *this is important to recall folks*
Me: Yep.
Tech: No warranty locks. Ok, I just need your keys and we'll be ready to go. It will take about 2 hours.
Me: My husband is going to bring me back.
Husband: Did he get the inspection on there?
Me: Did you put the inspection down?
Tech: Oh, I just didn't write it down, but I remembered. Oh, I'll need your registration.
Me: After digging in my car, found it and handed it to him.
Tech: Do you want me to call you?
Me: Yes and could you please make sure they do a courtesy wash this time. They haven't done it with the last few services I've had.
Tech: It says it has been done in the computer.
Me: I understand what it says, but it hasn't been done.
Tech: We'll have her clean.

12:30 I call and say hi, I wanted to know if my car is ready. The tech says" Yeah, it's ready. Wait no it's not. Oh I'm sorry, it is." Where was my call folks? Where was my call? Get there and the tech says "Let me explain everything on this statement." Explains and then says "You had low oil, do you bring it here for service?" Remember where I said this is important folks? Didn't he tell me this morning that I bring it in on time every time? Yes, he did.

Me: Yes I do bring it in every single time on time.
Tech: Oh
Me: Did they see a reason why it would be low.
Tech: No, especially not with a newer car.
Me: Did they seem to be concerned about it being low.
Tech: Ummm, Iiii don't know, it's the darndest thing.
Me: Thanks.
Tech: Can you fill out this survey.
Me: Filling out the survey in front of him. Didn't check the box where it asks if the tech asked you about transportation.
Tech: I did ask you about transportation, I said...
Me: NO, you said it will take 2 hours and I said that my husband would be bringing me back.
Tech: Oh, yeah that's right. Have a good day and please let us know if you are not completely satisfied.

I will not be going back to this Saturn dealership unless I have to. How can you not tell me why my oil was low. Why did you ask me if I had an appointment 3 separate times? Why didn't you call me like you said you would? This is my 4th time at the Saturn dealership since they have moved and it is getting worse with each visit. I will be taking my business elsewhere to another Saturn dealership.

Looks like some long trips to G-boro for car care. Gotta plan out those oil changes in advance now to not go over the miles. oqowx!

Brings back memories on how I had to rock the house at Mitz when the rear brakes locked up and caught on fire. And two meetings with Rob King to settle the dispute between myself and his lovely service manager. Now they treat us with kid gloves---kind of nice for a change---and a car wash with every service. A shame it takes something like that to become a 'marked customer' that might cause a stir with the media in order to get decent service.
